What Does a
Chiropractor Cost?

With Insurance

Most Insured Patients
Pay Just a Copay

Dr. Loewenstein is in-network with most major plans and bills your insurance directly — there's no paperwork for you to file. For most patients, that means a standard copay per visit. But "copay" isn't the whole story, and here's the part most offices skip.

How Insurance Actually Works

Copay, Deductible & Coinsurance — In Plain English

A lot of patients see "copay" on their card and assume that's all they'll pay — then get a bill for more. Usually it comes down to one of these three things:

Copay
A fixed fee you pay per visit — say $30. Set by your plan, and the same each time.
Deductible
The amount you pay out of pocket each year before your plan starts covering its share. It resets every January.
Coinsurance
After your deductible is met, the percentage of the cost you still pay — e.g. 20% — with the plan covering the rest.

Why you might pay more than your copay at first

Many plans apply your deductible to chiropractic care. Early in the year — or right after the January reset — you may pay the full visit rate until your deductible is met. After that, you drop to just your copay for the rest of the year.

…and why some patients never do

Other plans waive the deductible for chiropractic or office visits entirely. If that's your plan, you pay only your copay from your very first visit — no waiting to "meet" anything. It depends entirely on your specific plan.

This is why we verify your benefits first

Before your first visit, the office checks your exact chiropractic coverage — your copay, whether your deductible applies, and how much of it you've met. You'll know your real cost before you ever sit down. No checkout surprises, no "I thought it was just a copay" moments.

Questions

Cost & Insurance FAQs

How much does a chiropractor cost without insurance?+
A new-patient visit is $100 (exam plus full treatment, about 45 minutes) and follow-up visits are $75. Flat rates, no packages or contracts. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Does insurance cover chiropractic care?+
Most major plans include some chiropractic coverage, and Dr. Loewenstein is in-network with the plans listed above. What you actually pay depends on your copay, your deductible, and where you are in your plan year — which is why benefits are verified before your first visit.
Why did I pay more than my copay?+
Almost always because your deductible hasn't been met yet. Many plans apply your annual deductible to chiropractic care, so until it's met you pay the full visit rate — then you drop to just your copay. Some plans waive the deductible for office visits, in which case you pay only the copay from day one. We tell you which applies before your first visit.
Do you bill my insurance directly?+
Yes. For in-network plans, the office bills your insurance directly — there's no paperwork for you to file and no reimbursement process to chase.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?+
Yes. Chiropractic care is an eligible expense, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted for both cash-pay visits and any copay or deductible amounts.
How many visits will I need, and what's the total cost?+
Acute injuries often respond in 4–8 visits; chronic or postural issues may take longer. Dr. Loewenstein gives you a realistic estimate at your first visit — there are no prepaid packages and no long-term contracts, so you're never locked in.
